About CorridorCommute
My name is Thaddeus, and I'm the developer of CorridorCommute, a website for people who live in the Eastern Iowa Corridor
and travel on the busy roadways here. My hope for CorridorCommute is that it will connect people living in
these great communities, and allow them to share (very quickly) information about their trips through the corridor.
By employing increasingly popular technologies like RSS, Twitter, and SMS (text messaging),
we can quickly share information about detours, unexpected accidents, snow and ice conditions, etc. With this
information, we can choose alternate routes when roads are bad or an accident has happend.
In the years I've been commuting, I've often wished for a way to ask people ahead of me what's going on, or
find out if I should plan to take an earlier exit. With CorridorCommute, users can be connected and find
out what's up ahead. In addition, CorridorCommute will soon monitor a number of popular news outlets for information
about the major roadways within the CorridorArea.
There is still a lot of work to be done - this site is still very young, and many of the planned features
haven't been completed yet. However, I look forward to working with users of this site, and would greatly appreciate feedback. Please e-mail me
at corridorcommute@gmail.com with any questions or comments you have.
Please drive safely!
